AiDEN Auto Fills Gap in Car Connectivity
After announcing a new partnership, AiDEN Auto’s CEO, Niclas Gyllenram, took the stage at CES 2025 on Tuesday. “You can run our platform on any car model, and there is no need for coding,” he explained.
The Silicon Valley-based startup AiDEN Auto started CES 2025 by announcing a new partnership with HERE Technologies, a global expert in mapping and location data for vehicles owned by a consortium of German automotive companies.
In his pitch at Connect2Car at CES, CEO Niclas Gyllenram started by describing the problem for which AiDEN Auto has developed a solution.
“For a long time, the industry has built in navigation systems, music players, and voice control systems that, frankly, people don’t want to use. They prefer to pick up their phones instead,” Gyllenram said.
Things have improved in recent years, but according to Gyllenram, there is still a missing piece needed to accelerate the use of communication services in vehicles.
“Most of us already have the necessary hardware and software in place in our cars—millions of vehicles on the road today are equipped with this technology. Yet, there are still no connected services at scale.”
According to Gyllenram, that is the reality they are addressing with AiDEN.
"When I started working on Android for the automotive industry eight years ago, everything was expected to be connected and smart, with apps for everything. But that hasn’t happened.”
According to Gyllenram, one reason is that the automotive sector is very fragmented, unlike the phone industry.
“Even the largest manufacturers hold less than 10% of the global market, and the service side—parking, charging, fueling, and more—is even more divided, requiring a massive number of solutions for global coverage.”
To fill the gap, AiDEN Auto has developed a no-code app framework designed for Android Automotive.
“Our platform enables service providers to create app-like experiences without the need to write any code. And it is scalable across car brands and models.”
The framework also eliminates app-specific dependencies, tackling a major industry pain point.
“As cars update to newer versions of Android every one or two years, nobody has the time or energy to keep updating and maintaining old apps,” Gyllenram said.
AiDEN Auto was co-founded in 2021 by Gyllenram, Jonas Fenn, and Sinan Gun. Both Gyllenram and Fenn have previously worked at Volvo Cars in Sunnyvale.
