Strava Moves HQ to Downtown SF
Strava, the popular fitness tracking app, is moving its headquarters to 181 Fremont St. in downtown San Francisco. The company is subleasing 41,000 square feet from Meta, transitioning from its current location in Potrero Hill.
“We are all-in on San Francisco. We love the city”, says Michele Bousquet, Strava’s Chief People Officer, to the SF Chronicle
The new Transbay location offers, according to her, excellent access to restaurants, the Embarcadero, and public transit, making it ideal for Strava’s growing team of around 425 employees.
The name “Strava” comes from the Swedish word “sträva,” meaning “to strive.” Co-founder Michael Horvath, who grew up in Sweden, has said they chose the name to embody the spirit of striving and continuous improvement.
The new headquarters will feature designs that emphasize fitness and athleticism, including a library of sports books and inspiring photographs. Strava also plans to host events such as tech meetups and athlete panels at nearby Salesforce Park.
